We have analysed the system and it looks profitable – all we now need to do is execute the trade.

Personally I think risk/reward ratios are useful if you are developing a system similar to the tennis strategies described above (and in more detail later in the book).

However, as a general rule of thumb, I never look to lose more on a trade than I am trying to win. If you keep this in mind you should not go too far wrong.

Rule 14: Risk only 1-2% of your bank on any one trade

Always ensure you follow the four rules of the money management plan and never risk more than 2% of your bank on any one trade.
